How to Configure proxy and HomePage in Mozilla Firefox

Create user.js file. File should contain these lines:
user_pref(“network.proxy.type”, 4);
user_pref(“browser.startup.homepage”, http://my_new_home);

first line – detect proxy automatically
second line – set home page

Copy file user.js to:
“%ProgramFiles%\Mozilla Firefox\browser\defaults\profile” folder (for x86 systems) or in
“%ProgramFiles(x86)”\Mozilla Firefox\browser\defaults\profile” folder (for x64 systems).

Now new profiles for Firefox will use settings from user.js.

How to install Language Pack file in Windows 8

You can add additional language to your installation of Windows 8. You can do this with DISM command. It allows you to install Language Pack ( ). Download “mu windows 8 language pack” for your architecture (x64 or x86). Extract folder with your prefered language eg: “pl-PL” and install it with command:

dism /online /add-package /packagepath:C:\folder_where_you_extracted\pl-PL\

Restart PC and remember to change your Locale settings in Control Panel.

Windows 8 ISO image contains Core and Pro editions. Windows 8 Setup doesn’t allow users to select which edition of the operating system they want to install.

A KMS Server can activate clients in multiple domains

One KMS server can activate KMS clients in multi-domain environment. You need to edit registry key called “DNSDomainPublishList” under “HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\SoftwareProtectionPlatform” called “DNSDomainPublishList” on the KMS Server. Just add a list of domains in which the KMS Server should operate. One domain name per line. Then restart the “Software Protection” “sppsvc” service on your KMS Server. This will create _vlmcs SRV records under TCP node (DNS Server) of your DNS Domain.

How to install the .NET Framework 3.5 on Windows 8

You can install .NET Framework 3.5 on Windows 8:
1. on Demand when prompt
2. in Control Panel (Turn Windows features on or off)
3. from installation media

DISM /Online /Enable-Feature /FeatureName:NetFx3 /All /LimitAccess /Source:d:\sources\sxs

where /Source specifies the location of the files needed to restore the feature (e.g. the D:\sources\sxs directory).

You can use Netsh.exe to import and export DHCP scopes on Windows Server. Active account must be a member of the local Administrators group.
